Gen19:26 But Lot’s wife looked back and turned into a pillar of salt.

Throughout my walk as a Christian, I have heard the story of Sodom and Gomorrah told in various ways. We hear the story of Lot’s wife turning into a pillar of salt because she looked back. Recently a friend mentioned the scripture to me in conversation and I immediately got a different interpretation that I never considered.

Yes, the city was being destroyed because of all the sin and evil doing. However, God provided a way out for Lot and his family. They knew what they were escaping, they knew that what they left behind was evil, it had caused harm, and they knew that only better things could be ahead. But Lot’s wife looked back. Why?

How many times have we been giving an exit route from bad situations that we found ourselves……….wanting to look back, go back, redo….

There was a reason God said get out of there. So let’s stop looking back.
