Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers….

Today is the 19th year that I have celebrated being a mother. However, nothing has been more special than honoring my mother when she was alive and now honoring her memory. I have planted a rose bush in her memory and every time it blooms, I think of her. Her name was Rose and she represented all those thing we see in such a beatiful flower.

I love you momma and I miss you so much.

Types of Love….

1) Eros love – known as “erotic love”. It is based on strong feelings toward another. It usually occurs in the first stages of a man-woman “romantic” relationship.
2) Philos love – a love based on friendship between two people.
3) Agape – unconditional love ( no strings attached, no conditions to be loved) This is the love that God has for us.

In order to understand the very nature of love, we must know the meanings and types of love. Which one do you see emphasized the most in life? Most post people are looking for “eros” love. Can you find completion in just one type? Can you have complete joy and happiness in life without “philos” or “agape” love?

I think they are equally important in relationship dynamics but we must first and foremost always love ourselves first….unconditionally and more than we love anything or anyone else…….

That Gut Feeling…

Have you ever had that strange feeling in the pit of your stomach. It’s a mix between hunger pangs and feeling sick to your stomach. It’s present even after you have eaten and it just continues until it becomes almost unbearable. Have you had it? Do you ask yourself, whats going to happen? Why am I feeling this way and you try to ignore it; hoping it will pass; or perhaps thinkng oh my nerves are just shot because its been such a long day.

That feeling..so profound and yet oh so annoying is the one we want to ignore when we know its time to take off the blinders and pay attention to what is happening around us. It’s saying hello out there pay attention (while kicking and screaming). It says make a decesion. It says you dont like what you are seeing or feeling so do something about it. It says don’t be a chicken, speak up for yourself.

If we pay more attention to that gut feelings it will protect us from heartache which is so much more painful and harder to heal. So dont ignore that……….
